The workshop will consist of intensive training for all 3 SchH-phases: -tracking, obedience & protection. It will begin with a
comprehensive lecture by Oliver Neubrand on his training methods and review of the training dogs. Selective training sessions
will be videotaped and the footage reviewed at the end of each session. Dogs and handlers on all training levels are welcomed.
Gerard begins with approximately 45min theory without dog. Sitting in classroom conditions with white board for explanations. In this 45min Gerard will explain the structure of the course so the people will have a good understanding of how the course is laid out and what is required of them.
Day 1 Class 1 is based on developing behaviour so that dogs will show with enthusiasm and how to maintain this thru exercises and training at home.
There are many tips and explanations related to how we affect the dogs behaviour. (Remember all behaviour is LEARNT whether good or bad dog or human).
These exercises will be explained, demonstrated and then practiced by the class.
Day two Class 2 Gerard will show how to take what we did the day before into the competitive ring.
Gerard will also show you very simple daily tips that will improve your dogs competitive edge in the ring.
All kinds of dogs welcome, Shy, aggressive, bored and hyperactive, Gerard has seen them all!!!
All the training is done by shaping (Clicker and Marking), so a hungry dog and good food treats such as meatballs sausages is a must.
Free standing/Stacking and Double handling all included.
Bring a variation of leads and collars.
Comfortable shoes, as there will be a lot of walking.
Gerard has worked training dogs as his own business full time for the last 12 years. Prior to this he worked for the Swedish Military Police training all breeds of dogs for all different activities. He has worked with all breeds and in countries all over the world and today has up to 5000 customers a year. These courses are fully booked 6-9 months in advance in all countries around the world. We are fortunate he has a spare weekend in his work commitment to come to the UK and I can guarantee you all you will come back for seconds when he returns.
